3. “Always On the Run” by
the WITNESS

On the eve of Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung
San Suu Kyi’s 60th birthday, WITNESS and Burma
Issues announce the launch of a new video, “Always
on the Run.” In the video, ethnic minority
villagers inside Burma share the impact of being
forced to flee for their lives on their ability
to care for their families. It is estimated
that over 500,000 people inside Burma have been
forcibly uprooted from their homes within Burma,
creating a huge population of internally displaced
people or IDPs. “Always on the Run”
was filmed last winter just before government
armed forces swept through the area. It documents
the plight of people caught up in one of the
world’s most pressing yet silent humanitarian
crises.
You can order the compilation of video by
WITNESS partner Burma Issues at www.witness.org/store,
by emailing orders@witness.org, or by calling
718.783.2000 ext. 320.
