Educate your community

1. Host a film screening and present a slideshow at your school or home
To do this, purchase our Burma Action Pack, which includes:
• A booklet on Burma’s history and human rights situation,
• The DO-AYAY: OUR CAUSE documentary by the Freedom Campaign,
• The SEASON OF FEAR documentary by Burma Issues/WITNESS, and
• Flyers for our current campaigns
Buy a Burma Action Pack for $5 (charge covers the costs of shipping)

If you’d like to make a presentation to your friends or community instead of showing these films (or in addition to showing these films) download our PowerPoint presentation and the narrative that accompanies the presentation. If you cannot show the slideshow, you can just read the narrative that accompanies the presentation. Ask everyone you speak to sign the petition to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.

2. Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper.
Send your opinion about the situation in eastern Burma to your local newspaper, student newspaper, or even a national newspaper! And blog about Burma, too! One out of every four people who use the internet in the US reads blogs online – get your message out there every way you can.

We’ve compiled some facts about Eastern Burma that you will want to include in your letter and easy instructions on how to submit it to a paper.
